In 2008, Markus raced in the FIA GT Championship for the official Porsche factory team, finishing 3rd in his home race in Zolder. He also did the Le Mans Series for the 4th year in a row, again with a Porsche GT3-RSR. In addition to these two major series, Markus visited Belgian GT winning one race and finished 3rd overall and 2nd in class in the 24 Hours of Zolder. Markus also continued coaching other race drivers and testing for a couple of privateer teams.

Backround

Markus started karting at the age of four. Later on a hobby became serious and he raced in the karting World and European championships for 5 years before moving to touring cars. For the last 10 years Markus has raced professionally in the highest lever of sports car racing winning races and clinching podiums in series such as FIA GT, Le Mans Series, American Le Mans Series, FFSA GT, GT Masters, Porsche Supercup and Belcar. He has taken 15 starts in 24-hour races, including a class win in both the 24 Hours of Spa and Nürburgring.
